Dr. Robert A. Chase, MD, MS, FACP, brings over twenty-five years of extensive and diverse experience in healthcare to his role as Chief Medical Officer at Westlake Hospital and West Suburban Medical Center. Dr. Chase is a published author, educator, executive, leader and clinician with expertise in infectious diseases, infection control, clinical epidemiology and population health.
Dr. Chase received his Doctor of Medicine degree from Rush Medical College as well as a Master of Science degree in Population Health and Administrative Medicine from the University of Wisconsin. He is certified by the National Board of Medical Examiners and by the American Board of Internal Medicine for both Internal Medicine and Infectious Diseases.
Prior to serving as Chief Medical Officer at Westlake Hospital and West Suburban Medical Center, Dr. Chase has served as Chief Medical Officer, Chief Quality Officer, Vice President for Clinical Quality, Vice President and Chief Science Officer and Medical Director of The Institute of Health and Care Management at healthcare organizations across the country. He has also worked as a Private Practice physician and served as an Instructor at Rush Medical College, The University of Iowa and Northwestern University.
Dr. Chase is very active in the Medical Community and is affiliated with a number of professional organizations. He currently serves as a Fellow for the American College of Physicians and the Society of Healthcare Epidemiology of America, and is a Member of the Sigma Xi Scientific Research Society, the Infectious Diseases Society of America and the Academy for Health Services Research and Health Policy.
